A Time for Preparation

The lion of Judah always comes before the Betulah, who conveys the meaning of sexual purity. In scripture

God refers to himself as a lion (Hosea 5:14). When Jacob gives his blessing over his one son named Judah, he likens him to a lion's whelp (Gen. 49:9) but as we move through the verse we can see the Messianic overtones. In the latter days "who shall rouse him?"  This is also a time for preparation.  It's not just a "Jewish thing".  We can find several examples of activities that emphasized preparation on the 6th day. (Ex. 16:5, 22, 29, Num 7:42, 29:29), the sixth year (Ezra 6:15), the sixth month (Haggi 1:1, 15), the sixth year and sixth month (Ez.8:1), the sixth hour (John 19:14, Act 10:9). Even if you haven't read the entire bible, one should remember that man was created on the 6th day. But for those who haven't watched any of the Yom series presented on our YouTube channel, we are in the 6th millennium right now!

Various "Jewish" customs arose sometime during the first millennium that designated Elul as the time to prepare for the High Holy Days. But none of these customs are specifically commanded in scripture. But what IS mentioned in scripture are the High Holy Days in the 7th chodesh. The early church fathers made it their duty to separate new Christians from the "Jewish" customs, and this included not recognizing and observing any of Elohim's appointed times as specified in scripture. But if one understands just how much scripture was fulfilled during the appointed times of the spring then it might be strongly encouraged to know when the fall appointed times are and PREPARE.  At this writing we can inform you that it looks like the first day of the 7th chodesh, known as Yom Teruah (Day of Blowing), will be on September 11th, aka 9/11!

So, what can you do to prepare?

  • First, know the day, and the days upcoming.

  • Secondly, make a renewed commitment to reading scripture daily. Don't try to cover too much ground by reading full books or perhaps full chapters. We recommend reading small bits, in context, and taking your English translations to the test by looking up the meaning behind these words in Hebrew and/or Greek.

  • Pray: Take to heart the information you are encountering and pray about it, meditate on it, perhaps throughout the day, and ask yourself questions that you can lift up in your prayers. You may be pleasantly surprised with the answers you receive. But the key is to ask first.

All this is to be done so that you know what you need to work on, where you can improve so that you are on that straight and narrow road, and in alignment with our Messiah Yeshua. He WILL be the lion that comes. Will you be ready when you see him coming? For it is the female lioness that invites the male into her territory first. If there are other lions in the area, he will go to battle for her. Are you prepared?

Therefore, just as the Ruach ha-Kodesh says, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness.

- Hebrews 3:7-8
