Pay attention! This doesn't happen very often. The last time this happened was in December 2024. But before that it was September 2023. What happened in the days that shortly followed, the War in Gaza!  What happened in December 2024?  On December 31st, an extraordinary series of lightning strikes hit four major landmarks: the U.S. Capitol Building and the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C., along with the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center in New York City.  Because the chodesh/month began on the same day, this series of strikes fell on the 29th day for both disciplines. We have been focusing on the meaning of 29 in the more recent uploads on The Disciples Table YouTube channel. The meaning of 29 is "separated life" or a significant distinction in the way life was before, and life is after.

So, what might happen in this chodesh/month? One cannot be sure but there is something noteworthy at the start. The Ninth of Av, or Tisha B’Av in Hebrew, is a yearly fast day in Judaism that remembers several tragedies that occurred on that date in Jewish history.

Tragic Events Mourned by Jews on the Ninth of Av

1313 BC  – [Tradition] The spies returned from the Canaan (which later became the Land of Israel) with a bad report. 

  587 BC  – The Babylonians destroyed the first Jewish temple (Solomon’s Temple). 

   AD 70   – The Romans destroyed the second Jewish temple (Herod’s Temple). 

 AD 135  –  Bethar, the last stronghold of the Bar Kokhba war, was captured and the Jewish rebels massacred. 

AD 136 –    The Roman emperor Hadrian rebuilt Jerusalem, called it Aelia Capitolina, and restricted Jews from entering it.

AD 1290   – Jews were expelled from England under King Edward I. 

AD 1492   – Jews were expelled from Spain under King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. 

AD 1914  –  World War I began (which many historians conclude continued into World War II, resulting in the Holocaust) 

AD 1942   – Treblinka death camp began operating, and deportations began from the Warsaw Ghetto.

So why did we highlight the excel spreadsheet above on the 7th-9th?  Because scripture tells us that King Nebuchadnezzar's army entered Jerusalem on the 7th day, then the temple burned down on the 9th.   We are now in the 6th millennium.  The 7th day of Av falls on the 6th day.  The recent Central Texas floods and The Dragon Bravo Fire that has burned over 11,000 acres along Grand Canyon National Park's North Rim and damaged or destroyed about 100 structures, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge all started on July 4th, 2025, the 6th day of the week.
