Chodesh

Tranquil Sunset Lake

Elohim's ways are not man's ways. We invite you to celebrate this New Year Elohim's way. Join us and return to the ancient paths.

Thus says יְהוָה : “Stand in the roads and look. Ask for the ancient paths— where the good way is—and walk in it. Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We won’t walk in it.’

This Chodesh arrives 29 days later than last year's 12th Chodesh — a change of condition. A boundary was crossed. What qualified before no longer does. What begins now carries its own character and purpose.

Twenty-two days

There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alef-bet — the very instruments through which light was spoken into existence. Light can be experienced visually. It can also be experienced spiritually. This brief, precise Chodesh carries that number.

The Water Bearer pours. Not abundantly. Not endlessly. But deliberately. Twenty-two days of light before the threshold turns again.

This is the last Chodesh before the Fish opens the new year. The closing threshold. The last breath of darkness before the morning.

It is worth noting — even the Jewish new year, Nissan 1, begins at sunset on March 19, 2026, when both the sun and the moon are in The Fishes. The heavens confirm what the heavens confirm, regardless of which reckoning system is used to observe them.

Watch and be ready.

Fuller content — including the complete 2026-2027 Elohim's Timepiece breakdown — is coming next week.

A Pair of Equinoxes

A Note on the Day of Equal Light

March 16, 2026 marks the photometric equinox from Jerusalem

— the day when visible sunrise and sunset times are equal. Rise: 5h48m. Set: 17h48m.

This is distinct from the astronomical vernal equinox of March 20, 2026, when the sun geometrically crosses the celestial equator. The difference between these two dates is caused by atmospheric refraction — the bending of light as it passes through the earth's atmosphere — which makes the sun appear above the horizon slightly earlier than its true geometric position.

Both dates are real. They measure different things. The photometric equinox is what a ground level observer experiences.

The astronomical equinox is what precise geometric calculation confirms.

We are tracking both.

A Note on the Vernal Equinox — March 20, 2026

The Vernal Equinox this year occurs on March 20, 2026 — visible in the spreadsheet above. The sun at that moment is in Dagim — The Fishes.

This is not a new development. The vernal equinox has been moving through The Fishes for centuries due to axial precession — the same slow drift that produced this year's 12th Chodesh boundary rollover. These are not separate phenomena. They are the same movement of the stellar background observed at different scales.

In the days of Moses the vernal equinox occurred in Taleh — The Ram. That is why the tradition of the Ram as the first month has been carried forward in Judaism to this day. The positional memory is ancient and was astronomically accurate — for its time.

The heavens have moved.

We are now in the age of Dagim — The Fishes. The vernal equinox confirms it every March. And as the precession continues its slow and faithful drift, the equinox will eventually move into Deli — The Water Bearer — opening the age of Aquarius that has been anticipated for generations.

We are not there yet. But we are watching.

Beginning with this year, Elohim's Timepiece will track the vernal equinox constellation position annually as part of the longitudinal record.

Therefore, just as the Ruach ha-Kodesh says, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness.
